Job Title: Fleet Engineer

Reporting to: Fleet Manager

Position Overview:

Global Crossing Airlines is seeking an experienced Fleet Engineer to join our Technical Operations team in Miami.

We are looking for someone with strong hands-on airline maintenance, technical services, or engineering experience who can provide technical support for our aircraft fleet. A formal engineering degree is not required. Relevant airline, aircraft maintenance, technical services, or engineering experience may be substituted for formal education.

Airbus A320 family experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong technical experience on other commercial transport-category aircraft are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate understands aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting, can research and interpret technical data, work with OEMs and maintenance providers, develop engineering instructions, and provide practical technical solutions to support aircraft reliability and daily airline operations.

RequiredQualifications:

• Relevant experience in airline maintenance, aircraft engineering, technical services, maintenance programs, reliability, or a similar technical aviation role.
• Practical knowledge of commercial aircraft maintenance and airline Technical Operations.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and other technical publications.
• Experience troubleshooting aircraft systems and/or supporting maintenance activities.
• Ability to research technical issues and develop practical solutions using approved technical data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work directly with Maintenance Control, Quality, Planning, Aircraft Records, maintenance providers, OEMs, and other Technical Operations departments.
• Ability to manage multiple technical issues and priorities in a fast-paced airline environment.
• Ability to travel when operationally required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

A bachelor's degree in engineering is not required. Relevant aviation maintenance, airline technical services, engineering, or military aviation experience will be considered.

Qualifications We Prefer:

The following experience is preferred but is not required for consideration:

• Airbus A320 family aircraft.
• Commercial airline or Part 121 operating environment.
• CFM56-5B and/or V2500 engines.
• Airline Technical Services or Fleet Engineering.
• A&P Certificate.
• Aircraft troubleshooting and AOG technical support.
• Engineering Orders (EO), Engineering Authorizations (EA), Engineering Instructions, or similar technical documentation.
• Aircraft modifications, repairs, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and OEM technical documentation.
• Reliability programs and repetitive aircraft or component reliability issues.
• AirbusWorld/AirNavX or similar OEM technical-documentation systems.
• FAA regulations applicable to airline maintenance and continued airworthiness.
• Previous interaction with aircraft manufacturers, component manufacturers, MROs, DERs, or engineering organizations.
• Avionics, electrical, structures, systems, or powerplant experience.

Experience on Boeing, Embraer, Bombardier, or other commercial transport-category aircraft will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day engineering and technical support for the airline's aircraft fleet.
• Support Maintenance Control and field maintenance personnel with aircraft troubleshooting, AOG events, and complex maintenance issues.
• Research aircraft discrepancies using applicable AMM, TSM, FIM, IPC, WDM, SRM, CMM, Service Bulletins, and other approved technical data.
• Interface with Airbus and other OEMs, component manufacturers, MROs, repair stations, and engineering organizations to resolve technical issues.
• Develop and issue Engineering Orders, Engineering Authorizations, technical instructions, or other engineering documents as required.
• Evaluate Service Bulletins, modifications, repairs, and other technical recommendations for applicability to the fleet.
• Assist with implementation of aircraft modifications, repairs, and configuration changes.
• Support investigations of repetitive defects and aircraft reliability issues and develop appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide engineering support for aircraft, engine, avionics, mechanical, structural, and component issues based on the candidate's area of experience.
• Support on-site aircraft repairs and recovery activities when required.
• Coordinate technical solutions with Maintenance Control, Quality, Planning, Records, Supply Chain, Flight Operations, and other departments.
• Ensure engineering recommendations and instructions comply with applicable FAA requirements, company manuals, and approved technical data.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and supporting technical documentation.
• Perform other Fleet Engineering and Technical Operations duties as operational needs require.

What we are looking for

We are particularly interested in candidates who have actually worked around commercial aircraft and airline maintenance operations. You may have developed your technical expertise as an engineer, A&P mechanic, maintenance controller, technical-services specialist, reliability analyst, or through another aviation maintenance career path.

Work Location & Schedule

This position is based in Miami, FL. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday. Work hours and shift assignments may vary, and the schedule is subject to change based on operational needs. Flexibility is required to support the demands of a dynamic aviation environment.
