Full Job Description
As the recognized leader in popular savory flavor icons, such as beef and chicken, we go to great lengths to create authentic flavors to suit the diversity of international palates. We address the nutritional concerns of today's consumer, creating balance and putting back flavor, where needed, to meet consumer preferences. From salt reduction, umami, richness, and freshness, we offer healthier savory options. These options include culinary and vegetable inclusions, rich colors, antioxidants, and natural preservatives. You will report to a Principal Flavorist as a Savory Flavorist on our Commercial Team. This team is located in either our Cranbury, New Jersey, or Cincinnati, Ohio. Your main focus will be to excel in flavor creation for customer briefs. You will also manage flavor development project ensuring a successful creation process in cooperation with customers. - **Showcase the Very Best of You:** Create new flavor creations or modify existing formulations to meet project requirements, internal testing needs, or new technology development for selected flavor types. Embrace creativity and innovation. You will have complete ownership of created flavors. - **Collaborate and Mentor:** Establish and maintain relationships with a broad number of internal partners in all functional areas. Coach, train, mentor and manage flavor assistants. Coordinate the participation of other technical functions to learn about all areas of the company, including analytical chemistry, sensory, consumer understanding, regulatory, flavor delivery, and manufacturing. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment by observing EH&S policies. - **Lead and Influence:** Manage projects and provide flavors which meet all defined project needs, leading customer visits for flavor creation and product presentations at the customer. Be the technical expert to resolve flavor production issues and customer expectations. **You?** - Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related area. - Flavorist training in an industry accepted program with 2+ years experience as a savory flavorist. - Experience with savory process/reaction processing background required. The established target salary range for this position is $135000-$155000. Annual bonus. Actual compensation will depend on individual qualifications. Education and experience partly determine Job Title and Base Salary, with our compensation program guidelines determining them.
