Sr. Fire Alarm Technician HOUSTON, TX
Fire Alarm Technician Position The function of this position is to provide reliable, high quality customer support through on-site inspecting, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing fire alarm equipment as well as conducting preventative maintenance services pertaining to many different manufacturers' equipment.
This position has a salary range of up to $40 per hour depending on experience and held licenses. Job Responsibilities - Installation and programming of fire protection alarm systems for commercial applications (including piping, valves, and accessories).
- Document time worked as well as all paperwork relating to assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Must prepare accurate and timely documentation for work performed, complete monthly vehicle reports, and maintain truck inventory to ensure proper response to customers' needs.
- Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Must communicate effectively - both verbally and in writing.
- Must ensure positive customer experience.
- Must have a strong work ethic.
- Must be detail oriented.
Job Qualifications - FAL License
- NICET Certification is a plus
- Gamewell / FCI Certified / Siemens / Fire Lite / Silent Knight /
- Fire Alarm programming experience
- Service experience
- Technical aptitude
- Strong verbal communication
- Customer-focused and customer-driven mindset
- Thrive in the face of uncertainty
- Valid driver's license
- High School degree or the equivalent
- Electronic Trade School training is a plus
- Must obtain and retain any licenses that are required by state and/or local codes.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background, and reference check.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment - Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
- Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
- Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
- Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with "on call availability" and must be able to travel on short notice.
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
