Full Job Description
About the role

The Finance team is scaling the systems that run our business, and we're looking for a Financial Systems Manager to own and elevate our financial systems ecosystem. Sitting at the intersection of Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, and Engineering, you'll be the subject matter expert for NetSuite and the connected stack of tools that power our order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report processes. Reporting to and partnering closely with the Director of Financial Systems, you'll be the right hand who grows this function from a team of one into a team of two - adding depth, redundancy, and stability as we scale. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who loves translating financial workflows into clean, automated, well-controlled systems, and who is excited to build for scale as we mature toward a public-ready finance function.

This role is remote within the U.S. and partners closely with our San Francisco office. Our team spans U.S. time zones, so solid - though not total - overlap with San Francisco business hours is what matters.

What you get to do every day
  • Serve as the lead administrator and subject matter expert for NetSuite, owning configuration, maintenance, and optimization across the chart of accounts, workflows, custom records, saved searches, roles, and permissions
  • Own the health of the broader finance tech stack and its integrations - including Ramp, Coupa, Avalara, Stripe, FloQast, and Pigment - ensuring data flows cleanly and reliably between systems
  • Work with Accounting to streamline and accelerate the month-end and quarter-end close through automation, improved processes, and close-management tooling like FloQast
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, Data Engineering, and Product Engineering to translate business needs into scalable system solutions
  • Help manage the intake, prioritization, and delivery of system requests from across Finance, using a ticketing system to keep work transparent and on track
  • Lead system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements end-to-end; scoping requirements, configuring, managing UAT, documenting, and driving change management and user adoption
  • Identify and deploy AI-driven and automation solutions to reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and unlock analyst and accountant capacity
  • Evaluate manual and brittle integrations across the finance stack, and find opportunities to automate and streamline them for reliability and scale
  • Work with the data team on a finance data mart and connected reporting, helping maintain the dashboards and data governance practices that give the Finance team a single source of truth
  • Support internal controls, SOX-readiness, and audit requirements, including system access reviews and change-management documentation
  • Serve as a technical leader for our financial systems, setting the standards, documentation, and best practices that raise the bar for how we build and operate them

What you bring to the role

You don't need to check every box - if you bring the core NetSuite and financial systems experience, we'd love to hear from you.
  • Roughly 6-8 years of experience in financial systems, with deep hands-on NetSuite administration and configuration expertise
  • Solid understanding of core accounting and finance processes (month-end close, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report) and how systems support them
  • Hands-on experience with connected finance systems such as Ramp, Coupa, Avalara, Stripe, and FloQast, plus integrating them with NetSuite
  • Strong grasp of how systems connect (e.g., APIs and middleware) and comfort building and maintaining reliable integrations and automations, whether custom or vendor-supplied (much of our stack runs on pre-built, out-of-the-box connectors)
  • Experience applying AI to finance or systems workflows, with an interest in building toward an AI-forward finance function
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from requirements through delivery
  • Comfort using a ticketing system (e.g., Jira) to manage work, intake, and stakeholder requests
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions and levels, as well as with external vendors and partners
  • Self-starter who challenges the status quo, takes ownership, and makes strong recommendations
  • Track record in a high-growth SaaS or fintech environment; experience scaling systems and controls in a pre-IPO/SOX context is especially valuable
  • NetSuite SuiteScript & SuiteQL (assisted by AI tooling) is a plus
  • Pigment experience strongly desired
  • Prior work with data engineering on a finance data mart (e.g., in Snowflake) and connected reporting (e.g., in Hex) would stand out
