Full Job Description
Financial Reporting Supervisor to join our team. As a member of our Financial Reporting team, you will be part of the reporting team that prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial reporting packages. You will act as key point of contact for communication to the Reporting Team as well as division stakeholders. In addition, key responsibilities will include liaising with stakeholders related to various inputs to reporting. You will be responsible for continuous improvement of the team ways of working utilizing new systems solutions to improve efficiency, promoting first-time quality and proactive engagement with stakeholders in ensuring timely submission of such reports. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes to drive our organization's success. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization. This role directly reports to the Financial Reporting Director.

Essential Functions Include:
  • Assist with the period-end close (month, quarter, and year-end)
  • Prepare financial statement schedules and notes preparation (10K, 10Q, XBRL)
  • Call report preparation and reconciliation to external/internal reports
  • Account reconciliations, general ledger entries, data compilation and analyses ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
  • Preparation and filing various weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to SEC, FDIC, FHLB, FRB, IRS, and State of Maryland
  • Manage schedule for all filing deadlines and close procedures and ensure compliance to procedural and reporting standards
  • Troubleshoot financial reporting issues, complete audits, identify trends to determine improvement plans
  • Provide Internal and External Audit requests including Supervisory and Regulatory Audit
  • Maintains documentation of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX)
  • Managing all ad hoc projects and assist management on all accounting, and financial reporting activities
  • Participate in various educational opportunities and attend various conferences and update knowledge efficiently
  • Complete required regulatory training on or before the deadlines as assigned
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities 1-2 junior reporting analysts
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, SAFE Act, etc.; ensures that the office and all personnel adhere to the same.
  • Participates in required training sessions, including training for compliance with BSA/AML policies and procedures.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • Full-time.
  • Exempt.
  • Days of Work: Monday-Friday.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of accounting or finance
  • Minimum of five to seven years of experience in private or public accounting
  • Experience working with a public company or banking industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and be familiar with accounting software like Jack Henry and reporting tool Workiva.
  • Ability to exercise professionalism, confidentiality, accuracy, good judgment, courtesy, tact and patience, communicate effectively in both written and verbal correspondence, work independently with minimal supervision and research complex accounting issues and produce deliverables accurately and on time.
  • Experience supervising fellow team members, and building a rapport with team members, customers, senior management and vendors
  • CPA or CFA preferred

Compensation:
  • The pay range for this position is $90,000 to $145,000 annually.
  • Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
