Financial Operations Advisor

The successful candidate:

The Financial Operations Advisor is a strategic leader working closely with executives, department leaders and clinical leadership at City of Hope (COH) Phoenix (collectively the Comprehensive Cancer and Research Center, Phoenix and regional Outpatient Care Centers) to develop appropriate business cases and analyses to help make informed investments, strategic and operating decisions to ensure company financial goals are achieved.
• Provide financial and business decision support for COH Phoenix.
• Provide overall analytic responsibility for COH Phoenix.
• Drive continuous improvement in business analytics, continuously improving the accuracy of the data and tackle analytical challenges.
• Deliver all site operational analytics including Revenue, Pricing (both pharma and non-pharma), Retention, Reimbursement, Cost, Margin, Service Utilization, Quality, Operations Financial Support, Monthly Variance

Analysis Explanations, Management and Board Reporting, Budget, Forecast and Business Development Proformas working in conjunction with site subject matter experts.
• Analyze operations of COH Phoenix business units regarding re-engineering, pricing, profitability, and compliance related issues.
• Work closely with the regional Phoenix CFO to enhance current reporting capabilities.
• Assume leadership for regional Pro-Formas and Investment / Growth opportunities.
• Identify operational inefficiencies & best practices to drive improvement initiatives with senior management and operations teams.
• Implement a process to facilitate the sharing of best practices related to budget development and cost control.
• Review and implement performance metrics across the clinical operations to include KPIs.
• Develop a capacity planning model for future expansion.
• Drive the planning and organization of the annual budget including the creation of proforma for new initiatives.
• Recommends adjustments to clinical service mix based on historical mix information and marketing information.

Requirements:

2+ years of progressive experience in a hospital preferably oncology

Bachelor Degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Healthcare or related field

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
