Full Job Description
Summary

As Financial Controller, you will be an important part of the leadership team of the hotel.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct comprehensive variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior management.
• Balance Sheet & Reconciliations:
• Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
• Coordinate with department heads to resolve discrepancies and optimize financial processes.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Lead the development and management of detailed annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Perform in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, operational improvements, and revenue maximization initiatives.
• Corporate Accounting Management:
• Manage all aspects of corporate accounting functions, ensuring compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.
• Collaborate with the corporate finance team to align property-level financial practices with overall corporate objectives.
• Audit & Compliance:
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during financial audits.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as adherence to internal accounting procedures.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration:
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Work closely with the General Manager, department heads, and corporate leadership to support strategic initiatives and operational efficiency.
• Systems & Process Improvement:
• Oversee the implementation and optimization of accounting software and financial reporting systems.
• Identify and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and financial accuracy.

This position is a member of the Executive team. Generally, this is a Monday-Friday day shift position, but schedule is based on business demands and needs, so at times the need will be greater.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial management experience in a full-service hospitality environment, preferably in hotels of a similar size or larger.
• Proven experience in preparing monthly financial statements, executing balance sheet reconciliations, and conducting detailed budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Strong background in hospitality/hotel and managing corporate accounting functions and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Office applications; experience with hospitality-specific financial systems is an asset.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
