Full Job Description
What we are looking for:

The Financial Controller plays a critical role in the leadership of the finance team and reports to the CFO of Solesis. This position leads all day-to-day accounting operations. The Financial Controller demonstrates excellent critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, analytical skills, knowledge of GAAP, ability to analyze financial statement reports, leadership, project management and collaboration skills are important to implement change initiatives and to closely support the wider team.

What you will do:
  • Responsible for key accounting functions across the businesses, including General ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Treasury, Payroll, and Procurement.
  • Drives all the month, quarter, and year end close tasks. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment without compromising attention to detail or accuracy.
  • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow), or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to GAAP.
  • Leads and manages direct reports with integrity in a cooperative work environment for staff to be fully engaged and maintain high levels of productivity and job satisfaction.
  • Develop a team capable of supporting the continued growth of Solesis, including integration of acquisitions.
  • Liaison for internal, external, inventory, and fixed assets audits and monitors and develops appropriate internal controls.
  • Ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of processes to recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with manufacturing operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
  • Liaison and support for external party responsible for Tax compliance.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Identifies staffing requirements, participates in the selection and hiring process; interviews applicants and makes hire recommendations.
  • Provides coaching, feedback, and guidance to team members on a continual basis and takes an active role in developing, monitoring, and updating a career plan for advancement.
  • Completes performance appraisals and reviews with employees; recommends salary increases to management and HR.
  • Provides input to the department budgeting process and monitors and controls expenses throughout the year to meet budget requirements.

Who you are:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • CPA or CMA required.
  • 7-10 years related experience, preferably in the medical device, pharma, or manufacturing industry. (At least three years managing staff).
  • Experience in Private Equity held companies is a significant advantage.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills, displaying the ability to connect and build relationships across the organization.
  • Team player with a strong desire to be an active, long-term participant in the growth of the local office our businesses in North Carolina, and new acquisitions. Some level of travel is expected.
  • Experience with ERP systems and preferred implementation experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to organize, present and analyze financial information.
  • Ability to focus on detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
