  • Manage compliance discussions with external auditors regarding complex MIPA transactions and ASC standards.
  • Oversee reports for Work in Progress (WIP), Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR) aging, and inter-company transactions.
  • Complete monthly closing tasks assigned by the Team leader, clarifying Work in Process or SG&A allocations.
  • Perform daily accounting operations, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Financial Control Manager will provide accounting support to the M&S Finance team. This position reports to the team leader of M&S Finance or another senior management personnel that the HEAD of M&S Finance may designate. This position is onsite in Irvine, California. This position is expected to travel up to 5%.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review complex project contracts to identify performance obligations and determine the appropriate revenue recognition timing under ASC 606


  • Support audit discussions with external auditors regarding major revenue recognition judgments, contract margin adjustments, and POC schedules


  • Review Membership Interest Purchase Agreements (MIPA) to evaluate accounting implications and ensure accurate financial reporting


  • Support discussions with external auditors regarding complex MIPA transactions, ensuring compliance with ASC 805 (Business Combinations) and ASC 810 (Consolidation)


  • Manage reports for WIP, AP/AR Aging, inter-company transactions, and Trial Balance


  • Complete monthly closing tasks assigned by the Team leader, including clarifying and allocating Work in Process or SG&A


  • Perform daily accounting operations, including journal entries, payroll entries, and account reconciliations.


  • Provide backup support to other finance control team members.


  • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management or the Team leader


  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree with 7+ years professional work experience or a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field with +5 years of professional work experience with a minimum of +3 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance


  • Strong understanding of month-end and year-end processes required


  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and technical accounting standards.


  • Strong experience with SAP systems


  • Advanced Excell skills for data analysis and reporting


  • Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.


  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment under strict deadlines


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Solar Industry experience (Renewable)


COMPENSATION:

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the anticipated annual base salary for this position is:

  • Zone 1 (Bay Area, NYC): $132,400 - $156,500


  • Zone 2 (CA, NJ, NY): $121,300 - $143,400


  • Zone 3 (All others): $110,300 - $130,400


The applicable salary range is based on the employee's primary work location. Individual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other business-related factors.
