Summary:
The Service Line Financial Analyst services as a strategic finance partner, providing high-level analytical support and insights to drive performance across assigned service lines. This role is responsible for budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and analysis efforts while working closely with operational and clinical leaders. The Analyst plays a key role in shaping financial strategies and guiding data-driven decision making that aligns with organization goals. The Analyst works across all entities of the System.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance, or related business administration.
• Experience in data abstraction and report analysis required.
• Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with financial modeling and data visualization tools
• Ability to work in a complex clinical information environment.
• A high level of analytical ability is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Master's Degree
• One to Three years of relevant healthcare and/or finance experience preferred
Responsibilities:
• Lead financial planning and analysis efforts for assigned service lines including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
• Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annually (and ad hoc) finance reports for meetings held with senior leadership and finance leaders across Rush
• Collects and analyzes data and coordinates the reporting of key financial and operational metrics, including new visits, ancillary testing and procedures, physician referrals, productivity, access, etc.
• Designs and develops standard and ad hoc reports to effectively translate complex data into decision support tools for management.
• Analyzes new opportunities/relocations in consideration of business objectives, space, and capital requirements and ROI projections.
• Reviews actual vs. budget performance monthly and assist with budget variance explanations
• Contributes to the Service Line operating and capital budgeting process with key stakeholders from RMG, hospital and others; partners with Corporate Finance on capital allocation
• The Financial Analyst collaborates with the operational teams, providers, and revenue cycle to ensure accurate, complete, and consistent charge and revenue capture.
• Works with Revenue Cycle, Financial Decision Support and Rush Health to analyze financial impact of new service proposals. Coordinates charge set up for new providers, new services and new revenue locations with revenue cycle, IT and other aligned stakeholders.
• Employs financial models to develop solutions to financial problems or to assess the financial impact of transactions
• Utilizes EPIC transactional cube, Axiom and Lawson reporting, functionality, and analytics.
• Processes labor distribution and labor cost transfers.
• Assists with RMG Administrators with capital projects including approval, spend, legal and VP approvals, contract amendments, order submission, delivery logistics, training, etc.
