Full Job Description
The Finance Strategic Initiatives Manager is responsible for leading the design, execution, and continuous evolution of Finance's workforce optimization and operating model strategy. This role partners across Finance leadership, Human Resources, Technology, and Enterprise Functions to develop scalable service delivery models, enhance organizational effectiveness, and drive sustainable efficiency while maintaining strong control and risk management standards. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of core Finance functions, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, regulatory and management reporting, controllership, treasury support, and finance operations. Leveraging this foundation, the Finance Strategic Initiatives Manager evaluates current-state processes, organizational structures, and service delivery approaches to identify opportunities for simplification, automation, centralization, outsourcing, and global delivery optimization. This role serves as a strategic advisor to senior Finance leaders, helping shape future-state operating models that improve performance, capacity, talent deployment, and cost effectiveness. The position requires strong analytical, transformation, and change leadership capabilities, with the ability to translate enterprise strategy into practical workforce and operating model solutions that enable Finance to meet evolving business, regulatory, and stakeholder expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Oversee project portfolios, aligning strategic initiatives with business goals while proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks across programs. 2. Contribute as an integral member of the Finance team, providing effective thought leadership around strategy and prioritization of ideas and initiatives in support of Finance business processes, with an emphasis on optimization and efficiency. 3. Provide leadership and guidance to project teams in overseeing management of day-to-day prioritization and deliverables within assigned initiatives. 4. Manage large projects through end-to-end project management including standing up program/project/ sub-workstreams, monitoring and prioritizing tasks and deliverables, ensuring creation of project deliverables in line with PMO best practices, making decisions on behalf of senior leadership, capacity management and monitoring initiative risks with necessary mitigation escalation. 5. Lead and own strategic key initiatives for Finance LOBs, influencing a broad spectrum of partners to drive decisions and progress for key objectives while balancing optimization and execution goals. 6. Advise Finance leadership on prioritization and effective implementation through clear guidance on objectives and project priorities, execution of project plan, analysis of downstream impacts and risks, escalation and effective challenge of project issues, and mitigation recommendations 7. Manage and coordinate engagements with risk partners in the First, Second, and Third lines of defense for exams and reviews, to more efficiently provide documentation and responses to findings on behalf of assigned front office LOBs. 8. Mentor and coach less experienced teammates within project team: to ensure effective and efficient execution of activities and provide thought leadership to junior and intermediate initiative associates QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 2. 10-12 years progressive related experience in consulting, project management, process improvement, or financial services related role. 3. Experience managing with strong leadership, coaching, and team building skills. 4. Demonstrate strong mastery of all computer applications, inclusive of Microsoft Office software products. 5. Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, to develop and deliver innovative solutions. 6. Facilitation skills to lead teams in problem solving. 7. Strong organizational and time management skills. 8. Ability and willingness to learn and adapt as needs of the job change 9. Interpersonal skills to allow effective working relationships with teammates at every level in the Organization and the ability to mentor and coach less experienced teammates. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Advanced degree in a relevant field of work (e.g., MBA, PMP) 2. Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement, facilitation, and project management methodologies 3. Experience implementing large/complex initiatives and project management 4.
