Who You Are:

Versar's Digital Innovations (DI) operating center is seeking a Finance Manager. This role serves as a strategic and operational partner to business leadership and is responsible for supporting business planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, staffing coordination, performance management, and cross-functional execution. The Finance Manager will work closely with leadership and shared-service teams to help translate business objectives into disciplined operating rhythms, actionable insights, and effective execution across a technically sophisticated portfolio that includes digital data acquisition, analytics, geospatial systems, visualization and simulation, and AI/ML-enabled solutions. This position will play an important role in helping the business scale efficiently, support growth priorities, and maintain strong operational performance.

What You'll Do:

The Finance Manager will support DI's operational and strategic performance by helping leadership manage planning cycles, financial discipline, workforce alignment, and execution visibility across the DI portfolio. This role will contribute to the development of management rhythms, performance reporting, and cross-functional coordination that enable informed decision-making and strong operational execution. This individual will help improve transparency into business performance, provide structure around budgeting and forecasting activities, identify operational risks and process improvement opportunities, and support the scaling of a business environment focused on advanced digital, geospatial, analytical, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Partner with DI Market-Sector leadership to support annual budgeting, forecasting, staffing coordination, resource planning, and periodic business reviews.
  • Monitor financial and operational performance across programs, projects, and growth initiatives, and provide actionable recommendations to support revenue, margin, and execution goals.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, performance metrics, and management reports that provide visibility into key business indicators, pipeline performance, resource utilization, and execution priorities.
  • Support strategic planning and execution across the Geospatial and Digital Solutions portfolio, aligning operational priorities with business growth objectives.
  • Coordinate with finance, contracts, project delivery, capture, recruiting, HR, and other shared-service teams to support efficient business operations and aligned execution.
  • Lead or support process improvement initiatives that strengthen business rhythms, improve decision-making, and enable scalable growth.
  • Prepare executive-level business reviews, presentations, status updates, and decision-support materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor operational risks, compliance considerations, and execution dependencies, and elevate issues as appropriate.
  • Support workforce planning and hiring coordination to help ensure alignment between business demand and organizational capability.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement through strong execution discipline and follow-through.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in business management, business operations, strategy, finance, program operations, or a related function.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, operational reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated success supporting senior leaders and working across matrixed, cross-functional organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex business, financial, and operational information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level reports, presentations, and business updates.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business reporting tools.
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in business, finance, operations, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience supporting technical, engineering, geospatial, digital solutions, or professional services organizations preferred.
  • Knowledge of geospatial, digital technology, analytics, AI/ML, or related solution environments preferred.
  • Experience developing dashboards, KPIs, business rhythms, and management routines that support operational decision-making preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization platforms preferred.
  • Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen..

Compensation

Expected Salary: $150,000 - $200,000
