Full Job Description
Qwaltec has an immediate opening for a full-time Finance Manager. The Finance Manager reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for leading and scaling the company's finance function in support of continued growth. This role bridges government contract accounting, pricing, compliance, and financial operations with strategic business decision-making. The successful candidate will be accountable for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow management, pricing, indirect rates, and financial compliance while driving process improvements, automation, and operational efficiency across the organization. Candidates must possess deep government contracting finance and accounting experience, a demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional areas, strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for using financial data to support business growth and informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the company's finance function, ensuring financial operations support profitable growth, scalability, and informed business decision-making.
• Own the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial reporting.
• Develop financial models, analyses, dashboards, and key performance indicators that provide management visibility into company performance.
• Lead pricing strategy, cost proposals, indirect rate planning, and financial analysis to support business development, capture, and contract execution.
• Oversee government contract accounting compliance, including indirect rates, provisional billing rates, incurred cost submissions, financial audits, and interactions with DCAA, DCMA, and other government agencies.
• Direct accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes, and financial statement preparation.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, workflows, automation, reporting capabilities, and internal controls.
• Establish and maintain policies, procedures, documentation, and training to ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, DFARS, contract requirements, and company standards.
• Partner with company leadership to support strategic planning, profitability analysis, workforce planning, investment decisions, and organizational growth.
• Collaborate with Operations, Contracts, Growth, and Program teams to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• Develop organizational depth and redundancy across key finance and accounting functions to reduce key-person dependencies and support long-term scalability.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop finance and accounting personnel.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices and recommend improvements to strengthen the company's financial performance and competitive position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in finance and accounting within a government services business, including responsibility for government contract accounting, pricing, indirect rates, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience supporting financial operations for government contracts, including cost-reimbursable, fixed-price, T&M, IDIQ, and multi-award contract vehicles.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DFARS, CAS, DCAA audit requirements, indirect rate structures, pricing, and incurred cost submissions.
• Demonstrated experience developing and managing budgets, forecasts, cash flow plans, financial reporting, and strategic business analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across functional areas, including Operations, Contracts, Program Management, Business Development, and Executive Leadership.
• Demonstrated success improving financial processes, implementing operational efficiencies, automating workflows, and scaling financial operations.
• Demonstrated success facilitating financial compliance, positive audit outcomes, and strong internal controls.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal communication, and time-management skills.
• Eligible to work in the United States and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Experience with Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, or similar government contracting ERP and financial management systems.
