The group you'll be a part of

High-performing Finance team supporting Lam Research's Etch product group-a key technology driving advanced semiconductor manufacturing. This role partners with engineering, operations, and business leadership to influence investment decisions, drive financial rigor, and drive performance in a complex, innovation-led business. This is an opportunity to drive execution, optimize resource allocation, improve asset productivity, and support growth.

The impact you'll make

In this role, you will provide financial leadership for the Etch product group by shaping visibility into program spending as well as partnering with the business on capital investments and inventory. Your work will support informed decisions, strengthen operating discipline, and maintain audit-ready processes. By aligning financial insights with operational priorities, you will serve as a trusted advisor to cross-functional leaders and drive outcomes that balance innovation, execution, and accountability.

What you'll do

As a senior finance partner to the Etch product group, you will provide financial leadership across program spending, inventory, engineering cost of sales, and CAPEX. You will drive visibility, support decision-making, guide spending, strengthen inventory oversight, and ensure audit readiness. This role requires strong business judgment, executive communication, and the ability to translate complex financial data into simple takeaways.

Primary Activities
  • Develop insights and forecasts, and lead headcount and OPEX planning to drive disciplined investment and resource allocation aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with operations to manage engineering cost of sales by analyzing drivers, monitoring performance, identifying cost efficiencies, and improving cost predictability.
  • Lead CAPEX planning and investment analysis by evaluating capital requests, tracking spend and investment prioritization.
  • Drive financial visibility and governance for inventory by analyzing balances, aging, and trends to improve asset productivity and reduce risk.
  • Lead audit support by ensuring data, documentation, and processes are accurate, controlled, and delivered timely
  • Manage and mentor the offshore team to strengthen execution, build capability, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop executive-ready reporting, dashboards that synthesize financial and operational data into actionable insights for senior leadership.


Who we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, with minimum 7-10 years of Finance experience. CPA, CFA, CMA a plus
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel, large dataset analysis, forecasting tools (Workday Adaptive), and data visualization (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment, drive continuous improvement, and navigate ambiguity
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, US GAAP, internal controls, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Effective communicator and critical thinker, able to build executive-ready narratives, present recommendations, and simplify complex topics into clear business insights


Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, technology, or manufacturing industries
  • Background in R&D portfolio management or similar strategic finance roles
  • Experience with data visualization and advanced analytics/AI tools (Power BI, Tableau) to support investment and business decision-making is a plus


Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $114,000.00 - $253,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
