Job Description

The Finance Lead position drives the financial planning and analysis processes for the Global Treasury, Risk Management (Insurance), and Internal Audit functions. The individual will interact with Audit, Treasury and Risk Management leadership and key operating personnel and support key strategic decisions. The individual will participate in the annual financial planning cycles, develop an understanding of operational business strategies, and build skills in developing analysis for the business.

Responsibilities
  • Leads and develop the annual Plan, LRP and LBEs as required, including P&L, headcount and balance sheet for senior management review.
  • Operates independently to prepare schedules and relevant analysis for each planning cycle and develop clear support for management review.
  • Works directly with Financial Shared Services on monthly close process and financial reporting to ensure complete, accurate and timely monthly actual results, including variance commentary for P&L, headcount and balance sheet. Understand monthly results and communicate issues timely to the business units to resolve or develop an action plan.
  • Prepares monthly reporting packages and review with management.
  • Provides management with clear insight into drivers of financial performance variance; assess financial opportunities and provide recommendations.
  • Documents key financial processes.
  • Leads various ad hoc analysis to support business strategy and drive process improvements.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA or MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 6+ years financial analysis and accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of AbbVie policies, U.S. GAAP, internal controls, Sarbanes Oxley and financial reporting requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and adjust priorities to achieve accurate and timely results.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel, SAP, BPC, and TM1.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and aptitude for continuous improvement and change.
