Full Job Description
CC&N is seeking a Finance Director to lead the company's Finance and Accounting function and serve as a strategic business partner to the President and leadership team. This role will oversee all accounting and financial operations for CC&N, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, compliance, audit support, and internal controls. The Finance Director will also provide leadership and direct supervision for the Operations Coordination, Warehouse, Accounts Payable, and Accounting functions.

In addition to core accounting leadership, this position will support strategic planning, pricing strategy, margin improvement initiatives, financial modeling, evaluation of acquisition and growth opportunities, ROI analysis, and other initiatives that help drive profitable growth and long-term ESOP value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Serve as the primary financial leader for CC&N and a key advisor to the President and leadership team.
  • Present monthly financial results, forecasts, dashboards, KPIs, and key business metrics to company leadership.
  • Translate financial information into clear, actionable insights that help leaders understand trends, risks, opportunities, and the financial impact of decisions.
  • Partner with operations, sales, warehouse, purchasing, and other teams to improve business performance and financial discipline.
  • Partner with sales and operations leadership to evaluate pricing strategies, customer profitability, labor recovery, and gross margin performance.
  • Lead the financial components of CC&N's annual strategic planning process, including financial targets, investment analysis, and growth initiatives.
  • Support financial modeling, scenario planning, and measurement of strategic initiatives.


Accounting, Reporting & Compliance
  • Oversee month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports, dashboards, and forecasts.
  • Maintain strong accounting practices in accordance with GAAP, internal controls, authority matrices, and company policies.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial projections, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee audit preparation, tax reporting support, sales/use tax compliance, and other required financial reporting.


Cash Management & Business Analysis
  • Lead cash management, working capital analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Monitor receivables, payables, collections, and other key cash flow drivers.
  • Build and maintain financial models and analysis to support business decisions, capital investments, pricing, strategic initiatives, and growth opportunities.
  • Evaluate ROI on major investments, operational improvements, and new business opportunities.
  • Develop business cases and financial analysis to support investment, hiring, pricing, growth, and resource allocation decisions.


People Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance and accounting function, including direct supervision of Accounting, Operations Coordination, Warehouse, and Accounts Payable responsibilities.
  • Set clear expectations, provide accountability, and ensure timely and accurate completion of responsibilities.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual work, improve reporting accuracy, strengthen controls, and make financial information easier for leaders to use.
  • Collaborate with OwnersEdge finance leadership and finance leaders from other operating companies to share best practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or similar credential preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting, finance, controllership, or FP&A experience preferred.
  • Prior experience leading or developing accounting/finance team members.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and cash management.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership with financial analysis, business planning, operating metrics, and decision support.
  • M&A, due diligence, integration, or financial modeling experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with Power BI, ERP systems, Microsoft Great Plains, Management Reporter, or similar tools preferred.
  • Experience in construction, specialty contracting, low-voltage, technology infrastructure, project-based services, or field-based operations is a plus.
