Job Details

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Financial and Strategic Services Department as a Financial Business Analyst. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position will be responsible for the operational work required to implement a multi-year budget process. This position is a resource and technical specialist liaising with departments to preform the operational and coordination work required to implement a multi-year budget process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the multi-year budget team and departments to develop and implement a sustainable multi-year budgeting framework.
  • Engage with municipalities that have implemented multi-year budgeting to identify leading practices and lessons learned.
  • Lead business process improvement initiatives by identifying efficiencies, recommending solutions and supporting implementation.
  • Review existing workflows and design, document and implement improved processes to support a multi-year budgeting system.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Accounting, or related is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the business & financial analysis, information management field is also required.
  • Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft excel and power tools would be consider an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designations would be an asset.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.


Hours of Work

  • Benefit from flexible work hours by adjusting your start and end times by 30 or 60 minutes around our core hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • We offer a compressed bi-weekly work schedule of 72 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO).
  • This position has an end date of July 30, 2027, with a possibility of an extension.


Compensation

  • The salary ranges from $86,055.32 - $105,914.90 per year including a comprehensive benefits package and accrued paid vacation starting at 3 weeks per year.

  • Candidates not meeting the full qualifications may be considered for a development opportunity at a lower classification and salary.

Term

This is a term position until July 30, 2027, with the possibility of an extension.
