Field Station Development Representative (FSDR)

Duties: Manage and implement rigorous, multi-seasonal field-testing programs primarily at FMC's California Technology & Research Center (CTRC) in Madera, CA. This role requires independent and proactive work ethic. Focus on permanent and specialty crops, including 28 tree and vine varieties, vegetables, and row and field crops across a 60-acre research farm. Design, manage, and execute field research trials to test crop protection products (including insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, and biologicals) for efficacy and safety. Plan trial layouts, overseeing planting, treatment applications, agronomic practices, and harvest evaluations. Manage data collection, entry, and analysis using specialized agricultural software. Summarize and present biological research results to internal teams to support decision-making. Collaborate with North America Product Development and Commercial Teams to conduct demonstrations and host field tours. Maintain field station facility operations, including labs, offices, equipment, and compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards. Represent the company at industry events such as trade shows, summits, university events, and conferences. The FSDR is expected to perform physically demanding tasks, including carrying a 50-lb backpack sprayer over uneven ground and working in varied outdoor conditions.

Requirements: Requires Master's degree in Entomology, Plant Physiology, Plant Science, Weed Science, Agronomy or related agricultural or biological science field of study, and 2 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving agricultural product research (including as a Graduate Research Assistant), discovery, development, or commercialization. Experience specified must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: mastery of agronomic systems, pest and disease diagnostics, regulatory frameworks, advanced analytics of data, and team leadership; farming operations, including spraying and harvesting; calibrating and operating tillage, spraying, seeding, and harvesting equipment with the PPE and WPS practices; designing field research protocols, executing field plot technique, conducting statistically sound trials, statistical analysis of data, and agronomically driven interpretation of data; crop protection disciplines such as insect, weed or disease management; rearing and conducting pathogen or pest inoculations to ensure uniform pest pressure in trials; agricultural data systems including ARM, JMP Pro, SAS, R and GEA-R and using data analysis results to address research objectives; technical or scientific writing and oral communication in the agricultural space for submission and presentation to R&D, Regulatory, and Commercial stakeholders; EHS protocols related to agricultural equipment handling and chemical use; supervising, training and evaluating full-time and seasonal employees. Requires a valid Driver's License.
