Full Job Description
Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Field Service Technician for our Seattle, WA location. In this engineering advisor role, you will help keep Amtrak's Siemens Charger locomotive fleet running safely, reliably, and efficiently by providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance workforce. The Field Service Technician will advise on routine maintenance, restoration, equipment failures, semi-complex installations, modifications, and repairs-playing an important part in delivering dependable service for our customer. The current work schedule will be a Monday - Friday daylight - 6am - 2pm.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Partner with customer management and maintenance teams to keep the Charger fleet reliable and continually improve maintenance practices.
  • Troubleshoot, provide guidance on repair of service requests on electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems - including vender components such as Cummins.
  • Deliver hands-on technical advice and ongoing system-operation training to customer maintenance personnel.
  • Identify non-conformance issues, recommend improvements and share performance and quality feedback with the team.
  • Keep communication flowing between the customer, the Rail Support Center and the field team on every assignment.

To thrive in this role, you have:
  • Associate degree in an engineering subject area or at least 2 years of hands-on electrical and mechanical experience in an industrial, military, or maintenance environment.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical AC/DC circuits, mechanical systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Excellently demonstrated English-language technical communication skills, including speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
