If you are a Field Service Engineer/Professional looking for an opportunity to grow and develop professionally, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!

Based in the Southwest Regional Office in Houston, TX, as a Field Service Engineer (Ovation Advantage),you will be part of a team of customer support engineers responsible for diagnosing and resolving engineering challenges related to the installation, startup, and operation of moderately complex distributed control systems (DCS), subsystems, and specialized control equipment at customer sites.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Working with the Sales team and Customers to develop a comprehensive project scope for custom power and water applications
  • Conduct site walkdowns and develop cost estimates for retrofit engineering and installation projects
  • Develop technical specifications and coordinate with third-party vendors
  • Evaluate contractor bids for installation work
  • Manage and coordinate regional projects, including planning and scheduling activities to meet customer and project needs
  • Lead technical and project meetings, documenting outcomes clearly
  • Design, review, implement, and test control systems for power and water applications
  • Develop and maintain control system databases, logic, and operator interfaces
  • Support installation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites
  • Provide technical guidance and engineering support to customers and internal teams
  • Build and sustain strong, trust-based customer relationships through clear and professional verbal and written communication skills


For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, related STEM degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Experience managing/coordinating projects
  • Knowledge of a working power plant and all sub-systems
  • Understanding basic networking and computer assembly/troubleshooting experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be able to travel up to 50-75% of the time. The travel requirement will be seasonal
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future


Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • A working understanding of Ladder Logic, SAMA diagrams, and P&ID prints
  • Experience with DCS/PLC controls
  • 5+ years of control experience in the power and water/wastewater treatment industries
