Description

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for supporting customers with installation, maintenance, repair, and optimization of systems and retrofits. This role involves hands-on technical work, troubleshooting, performance tracking, and direct customer interaction.

The engineer will act as a key interface between customers and internal teams, ensuring system performance, resolving issues, and providing technical guidance. The role includes training opportunities, including apprenticeship training and international training.

Requirements

Install, commission, and support Evatec vacuum deposition systems at customer sites

Willingness to travel up to 50% across North America

Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs

Support process optimization and equipment performance improvement efforts

Install, configure, and support software systems tied to equipment operation and customer production environments

Document service activity and maintain accurate technical records

Provide technical training and support to customer personnel

Coordinate with internal engineering and technical support teams

Maintain strong customer relationships through professional field support

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting semiconductor, vacuum, thin film, capital equipment systems or military hardware
• Experience installing and configuring software systems in support of complex equipment or technical operations
• Strong electrical, mechanical, and systems troubleshooting capability
• Ability to read schematics and technical documentation
• Customer-facing service experience in a technical environment
• Military technical backgrounds highly transferable
