About the role:The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing sales team within a specific geographic territory focused on driving revenue growth through in-home consultations and outdoor service solutions. This role combines leadership, strategic planning, executing strategies to meet revenue targets and hands-on sales activity to achieve company goals in customer acquisition, market expansion, and profitability.
What you'll do:- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing for high-leverage accounts
- Lead, manage, and coach a team of outside sales representatives to achieve and exceed sales and margin goals.
- Recruit, train, and develop sales team members to ensure high levels of product knowledge, professionalism, and closing effectiveness.
- Participate in field activities, including joint sales calls and ride-alongs, to provide real-time coaching and ensure consistent sales process execution.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, set sales strategies, and develop targeted improvement plans.
- Collaborate with marketing to optimize lead generation, territory management, and conversion rates.
- Monitor sales pipeline activity, follow-up practices, and CRM data accuracy to maintain accountability and forecasting accuracy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and ensure a superior customer experience throughout the sales process.
- Coordinate with operations and installation teams to ensure smooth project handoffs and customer satisfaction.
- Implement incentive programs, contests, and recognition strategies to drive motivation and results.
- Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to adjust strategy as needed.
What we are looking for:To effectively perform the duties for this position, individuals must be able to demonstrate competencies that are essential to the position, which include:
- Experience in a "one call close" model is a must
- Ability to travel as required, ~10-25%
- Proven success in outside sales management, preferably within the home improvement, construction, or outdoor services industry.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities with experience managing field-based teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven mindset with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and data-driven performance management.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle; willingness to travel within assigned market area.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:- Ability to walk job sites, measure pools, and climb in/out of pool shells or backyards
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Stand and drive for long periods
- Occasionally lift presentation materials or samples (up to 30 lbs)
