A Day in the LifeAs our Field Operations Manager, you'll oversee a team of 20+ operators and technicians while driving safe, compliant, and efficient water treatment operations across multiple facilities and field locations. This role will require regular travel between Santa Clarita, CA and Corona, CA. The compensation range for this role is $100,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location
To thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team across multiple facilities of 20+ water treatment operators, maintenance technicians, and field personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and performance of wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems, and associated field equipment.
- Provide hands-on leadership and technical expertise in troubleshooting water treatment processes and equipment; including pumps, motors, blowers, filtration systems, chemical feed systems, instrumentation, controls, and SCADA systems.
- Direct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and ensure uninterrupted treatment operations.
- Monitor water quality, treatment performance, process trends, and operational data to ensure compliance with all regulatory, permit, and client requirements.
- Coordinate field activities, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure safe and efficient execution of operational and maintenance work aligned with approved client budgets.
- Lead operational response efforts for equipment failures, process upsets, emergency situations, and system outages. Ensuring timely resolution and minimal operational impact.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, maintenance practices, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system performance and operational efficiency.
- Work directly with vendors, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to coordinate equipment repairs, upgrades, installations, start-ups, and specialized technical support.
- Conduct field inspections and operational assessments to identify performance issues, equipment deficiencies, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure team members are properly trained and qualified in treatment operations, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Promote and enforce all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements; conducting safety meetings, audits, investigations, and corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders regarding treatment system performance, operational objectives, compliance matters, and service delivery.
- Work alongside Project Managers to align with operation and maintenance budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency while maintaining a high level of service and reliability.
- Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and compliance records, ensuring timely reporting and documentation of treatment performance and equipment activities.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding operational performance, staffing, equipment reliability, safety metrics, and key operational risks.
- Prepare facilities and operational teams for regulatory inspections, audits, and client reviews.

Your Expertise and Skills These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here
- 10+ years of treatment operations experience in the environmental, oil & gas, landfill or power industries preferred
- Experience and/or familiarity with wastewater treatment equipment and/or HVAC systems
- Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases, Microsoft Office software, etc.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and technical communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience taking responsibility for high level tasks and driving all sub tasks to rapid conclusion with autonomy.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean MVR
- Must have a reliable form of transportation to travel to job sites
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or construction discipline
