DescriptionReporting to the
Western Canada Engineering Manager, the
Regional Industrial / Manufacturing / Mechanical Process Engineer is responsible for all cost and quality improvement activities in the field. This includes employing engineering practices to help the company achieve its budgetary targets and become more effective and efficient. They will both lead and support the deployment of all new initiatives and technologies in the field.
Responsibilities- Employ engineering practices to develop optimum operating profiles for all Purolator Operations. (Develop new or improve current material handling equipment layouts to improve ergonomics, health and safety, capacity, and productivity)
- Improve existing operational processes by employing engineering practices to support field operation to achieve Purolator's KPI targets (H&S, Expense, Revenue, Quality)
- Lead and Support deployment of new initiatives and national projects in the field for region
- Very strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Project Management, assist in equipment layout and design, standards development and auditing, process optimization and statistical analysis, used for development of trending and forecast information
- Develop, manage and implement multiple projects providing realistic and accurate timeline, resource requirements and activity plans
- Provide technical training and support to field personnel.
- Key initiatives will also include support for the testing and implementation of new technologies, methodologies and procedures.
- Employ standard engineering practices to develop optimum operating profiles for sortation and courier operations.
- Create business cases and project plans to lead improvement efforts
- Gather and analyze data to support Operations team members
- Translate data findings into problem statements and drives decision making process of appropriate solutions
EducationBS degree in Industrial Engineering or another related engineering discipline
Experience- Minimum 5 years' experience in a professional engineering discipline. (Industrial, manufacturing preferred but not limited to)
- Strong competency with excel, word, powerpoint, autocad, visio, process mapping and GIS (if possible)
- Ability to effectively implement change.
- Autonomous & able to work in a changing environment.
- Able to effectively implement change and utilize change management principles.
- Must be flexible to work in a 24 hour environment.
- Ability to travel is required.
