Position OverviewThe Field Construction Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that constructability meets Qualus and our client expectations for the quality of each assigned project, compliance within required construction codes, local jurisdictional requirements, budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role must have 100MW + BESS project experience, and they must have experience coordinating and managing construction work performed by contractors at the project site on behalf of our client.
Responsibilities
- Construction project oversight for the installation 100MW + Battery Storage Facilities.
- Oversee and support the construction process in the field enforcing, Safety – ensure contractors are following our safety policies and procedures, Quality – ensure work is of good quality and built to company specifications, and Compliance – ensure contractors are following all company constructions policies, standards, and federal, state and local regulations and codes.
- Perform construction management services overseeing the activities of multiple contractors, subcontractors, and consultants, and resolve issues including material, construction, and scheduling conflicts.
- Reports progress daily to the PM and ensures accurate reporting including Safety, Quality, Progress, Risk, and Materials.
- Facilitates pre-construction meeting, emphasizing safety and communicates any schedule or construction recommendations with PM.
- Oversees pre-fab and onsite construction - monitor project safety, scope, quality, risk, schedule, and budget.
- Maintain project folder containing all relevant material tracking and test records.
- Ensures as-built redline drawings are submitted to Engineering.
- Compile and submit close out documentation consistent to standard format provided by PM.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required, technical school and/or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 7 to 10 years of experience with 100MW + BESS construction projects.
- Ability and willingness to assist in performing regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
