Description

The Field Applications Engineer serves as the primary technical point of contact for Aitech US customers, combining deep engineering expertise with customer-facing sales and support responsibilities. This role bridges the gap between customer requirements and Aitech solutions across the Space and Mil/Aero product portfolio.

Customer Engagement & Support
• Serve as first line of contact for all Aitech US customers with technical or customer service queries via email, telephone, and online conversations.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support covering product usage, deployment, and sustaining production.
• Train customers in the adoption of Aitech products within their projects and product lines; conduct workshops to ensure proper utilization.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the aerospace and defense sector.
• Design and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to clients and prospective customers.

Business Development & Solutions
• Collaborate with the business development team to identify Aitech and third-party solution sets that meet customer requirements.
• Evaluate customer requirements and provide customized solutions to address their specific needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products and enhance existing ones for the aerospace and defense market.
• Stay current on the latest advancements and trends in aerospace and defense technology.
• Contribute to S&OP cycles by communicating customer project timelines, design wins, and anticipated order volumes to support accurate demand forecasting.

Internal Collaboration
• Communicate with Operations and Engineering to identify customer solutions and resolve technical issues.
• Provide customer feedback to Operations and Program Managers to drive product and service improvements.
• Work with Program Managers, R&D, and Engineering to promote and schedule technical fixes.
• Act as liaison between clients and internal teams, surfacing actionable insights to improve products and services.

Documentation
• Prepare customer-facing documentation including Application Notes, whitepapers, and readme files to supplement User Guides with reference examples and procedures.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of embedded hardware/software development and/or support.

Minimum of 3 years customer-facing experience in sales, field applications, or field service.

BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline - or equivalent professional work experience.

This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:
• SpaceVPX and/or cPCI systems; familiarity with ARM and NXP PowerPC architecture.
• Experience in aerospace and space applications development or support.
• Knowledge of NVIDIA embedded GPGPU technologies and applications.
• Embedded and real-time operating systems (RTOS): VxWorks 6.9, VxWorks 7, and/or embedded Ubuntu Linux.
• Windows 10 experience in embedded or rugged application environments.
• Strong presentation skills; ability to communicate and influence customers, sales teams, and engineering colleagues.
• Experience managing work releases in Arena PLM and Git version control.
• Familiarity with S&OP processes and cross-functional planning in a hardware product environment.
