The jobWe are seeking a visionary and strategic technology leader to join our team. This role involves leading the identification and analysis of emerging technology trends, tracking and coordinating engagement with the external innovation ecosystem (e.g. venture and start-ups, corporate and academic research, industry fora), and helping set priorities for innovation programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a strong network within the software and industrial start-up community, a collaborative mindset, and a demonstrated ability to forecast and communicate industry transformations.
Key Responsibilities- Trend Analysis: Lead the analysis of emerging technology trends in key sectors relevant to AVEVA. Forecast how these sectors will evolve over the next 3-7 years.
- Strategic Prioritization: Lead efforts, in collaboration with business and technical leaders across the company, to set priorities for technology innovation and development based on market dynamics, technological advancements, and strategic business goals.
- Innovation Leadership: Identify cutting-edge technologies that can enhance our product offerings and operational efficiency.
- Strategic Communication: Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations on research findings, trends, and recommendations. Communicate insights effectively to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including emerging tech innovation, engineering, product management, and business development, to integrate technology trends into strategic plans.
- Networking and Ecosystem Development: Build and maintain relationships with industry experts, technology vendors, industry fora, the VC and start-up community, and research institutions to stay informed about the latest developments and opportunities.
- Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of analysts and researchers. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of technology trends in data centers, renewable energy, and electric grids. Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Background: Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience working as an engineer or in an industrial sector. Ability to provide technical depth and interpret solutions independently.
- Future Vision: Ability to anticipate and articulate how industry sectors will transform over the next 3-7 years and how technology can enable these changes.
