Position Description: The Federal Systems Accountant will join the team to assist with a variety of initiatives and tasks related to federal USSGL. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest organizations of the US Federal government. This program will retire the agency's existing legacy financial system and replace it with Momentum. We take an innovative and collaborative approach to supporting our client, working in an Agile environment using emerging technologies. You will be interacting with a dynamic team of people, with opportunities to learn and grow as you help deliver the overall solution to our client.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities: Your future duties and responsibilities:
The Federal Systems Accountant will join the team to assist with a variety of related initiatives and tasks related to federal USSGL.
. Review requirements for General Ledger transaction postings and External Reports and identify any gaps, inconsistencies, or conflicts.
. Define required posting models and external reporting configuration to meet defined requirements and Treasury and OMB guidance.
. Coordinate with and support the definition of the agency's Accounting Code Structure as required to support General Ledger and external reporting configuration.
. Develop external reports configuration to support GTAS, SF-133, DATA Act, and other management reports as required for new business lines.
. Document General Ledger and external reporting configuration and present proposed configuration in client demos.
. Support the development and configuration of system assurance reports to validate consistency between financial system subsidiary ledgers and General Ledger.
. Remain current with applicable Treasury and OMB rules, regulations and guidance. Assess requirements and configuration impacts to Treasury and OMB guidance changes. Review impacts with the client and support the implementation of recommend changes through the defined change management process.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . Bachelor's Degree, Accounting preferred
. 4+ years of experience in working with federal financial systems and USSGL.
. Extensive knowledge of the federal financial regulations, processes, directives, instructions, and program guidance documents; CGFM, CPA or equivalent preferred
. Experience with federal financial reporting requirements.
. Problem solver along with ability to multi-task
. Prior consulting experience in any of the following areas: Business process improvement, Federal Budgeting and Financial policies and procedures, System integrations
. Work independently and across many initiatives at once
. Proven client management skills
. Strong Communication Skills
. Experience in requirements and BPR analysis
. Prefer experience with Momentum Financials/Accounting/Budget
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
. Experience with Federal Financial ERP system (e.g., Momentum)
. CGFM, CPA or equivalent preferred

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,800.00 - $245,500.00.
