What You Will Do:

Client Relationship Management & Engagement Delivery

  • Actively manage a portfolio of client engagements and consulting staff, ensuring all contractual targets and deliverables are met. 

  • Strategize with consultant teams on project approach, facilitate communications, and manage risk across active engagements. 

  • Drive the quality and standards of all work products to ensure superior engagement delivery. 

  • Maintain strong relationships with executives across federal civilian agencies — specifically the General Services Administration, Office of Personnel Management, Department of Agriculture, Department of Commerce, Department of Labor, Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Universal Service Administrative Company— at division, branch, and program levels. 

  • Develop and instill best practices across the organization. 

  • Promote and ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and internal policy requirements. 

  • Manage engagement economics, ensuring delivery aligns with approved financial parameters. 


Business Development 

  • Leverage existing firm relationships and build new ones to expand client accounts and grow the portfolio. 

  • Lead new business opportunities; support and experience leading activities across the full federal sales lifecycle is required. 

  • Lead proactive account management activities, including regular check‑ins with client executives, identification of emerging needs, and development of long‑term account roadmaps. 

  • Drive growth within existing accounts by identifying expansion opportunities, shaping client demand, and aligning Guidehouse capabilities to client priorities. 

  • Develop, maintain, and actively manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities across your portfolio, ensuring visibility, accuracy, and forecasting discipline. 

  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams (delivery, BD, partners, and SMEs) to advance account strategies and pursue new work aligned to agency missions. 

  • Monitor market and policy developments to anticipate client needs and position offerings accordingly. 

  • Ensure effective capture planning for priority opportunities, including competitor analysis, win‑theme development, teaming strategy, and solutioning. 

  • Be personally engaged in and accountable for driving at least $5M+ in annual new business growth for the firm. 


Consulting Staff Leadership 

  • Provide direct line management for managers and consultants assigned to your client engagements. 

  • Lead career development, advocacy, recruitment, and retention for team members. 

  • Oversee training and onboarding for new consultants. 

  • Contribute to fostering a positive, collaborative, and performance-oriented culture. 


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, engineering, communications, technology, or a related field. 

  • Minimum of 7 years of total professional experience (industry, research, or consulting), excluding internships, part‑time roles, co‑ops, fellowships, and academic research. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading consulting engagements with federal agencies or similar organizations. 

  • Existing strong relationships with leaders across federal civilian agencies (e.g., USDA, GSA, Department of Labor, HUD, OPM, USAC, Commerce). 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead federal government business development efforts with proven results across the full federal sales lifecycle. 

  • Excellent program and project management skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams across a range of projects. 

  • Strong data literacy and comfort with analytics tools to support account planning, pipeline management, and performance tracking. 

  • Experience partnering with technology providers, cloud platforms, or system integrators on federal opportunities. 

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal "PUBLIC TRUST"; US Citizenship restrictions apply.

  • This hybrid position role may require up to 3-5 days at the Guidehouse Tysons or Arlington, VA Office.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Agile/Scrum, CCMP, or equivalent. 

  • Prior experience standing up or scaling new federal accounts, programs, or growth portfolios. 

  • Familiarity with major federal contract vehicles (e.g., OASIS+, Alliant, MAS, CIO‑SP, or agency‑specific BPAs).
