Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive wellness exams and develop patient care plans
  • Conduct evaluations for acute illnesses and create management strategies under physician supervision
  • Complete required administrative paperwork efficiently
  • Prescribe medications (excluding controlled substances) and monitor their use
  • Determine need for specialist referrals and escalate care as necessary

Nurse Practitioner Family Practice Department

Full-Time, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

  • Current Texas State Nurse Practitioner License
  • Current CPR Certification
  • New graduate acceptable
  • Excellent work ethic, compassionate disposition, and ability to establish positive relationships with both patients and families
  • Preform wellness exams. Able to provide a history, exam, and plan of care. Would need to be knowledgeable of preventative cares by age and gender.
  • Perform acute visits. Able to see and evaluate acute illnesses and develop a plan of care under the physician's supervision.
  • Complete necessary paperwork. Able to complete administrative tasks and paperwork including but not limited to prior authorizations
  • Medication prescription. Able to prescribe and monitor medications-not including controlled substances-must know when certain medications require lab or speciality monitoring.
  • Able to recognize when specialist referral is needed, when urgent/emergent care requiring escalation to supervising physician or ER is needed.

Additional wants:
  • Ability to provide women's health services/exams
