Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking qualified physicians to join our team and deliver exceptional care to our Vancouver community. We offer flexibility for family physicians to work in a variety of different programs and settings, including:
  • Primary Care Clinics (with a focus on at risk populations)
  • Long-Term Care
  • Older Adult Care in a range of settings
  • Mental Health and Substance Use Services
  • Urgent and Primary Care Centres
  • Homelessness, Supported Housing, Complex Care Teams
  • Community Palliative Care (including hospice)
  • Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD)

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) Eligible - Mandatory
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Full/Provisional

Specific training requirements may be needed for certain programs:
  • Palliative Care - Candidates should meet least one of the following 3 criteria:
  • Recognized with a Certificate of Added Competency in Palliative Care by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP-PC);
  • Completed "Year of Added Competency" training in Palliative Care at an accredited training site;
  • Holder of Palliative Medicine credentials earned in another jurisdiction that are acceptable to both the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and the governing body of the Health Authority and its Affiliates.

Addiction Medicine:
  • May need completed Addiction Medicine Fellowship/Enhanced Skills
  • May need to have completed Provincial Opioid Addiction Treatment Support Program (POATSP)
