Full Job Description
Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our investment-focused, high-performing single family office team. This is a newly created role for an experienced accountant who will partner across the family office team to support a broad range of accounting and financial functions and will lead the transition to a fully in-house accounting function. Core responsibilities will include monthly accounting close, financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations, and collaborating with external tax advisors.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the near-term transition of currently outsourced accounting to a fully in-house function, including transferring knowledge and records from third-party accountants while maintaining accuracy and continuity throughout the transition
• Maintain general ledgers and perform month-end close for select investment vehicles, trusts, and personal entities, including preparing and posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analysis across multiple legal entities
• Account for multiple entities and family office structures, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidated reporting, and maintain supporting schedules for loans, transfers, and allocations
• Process accounts payable, expense coding, and vendor payments for household and entity-level obligations
• Initially assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, presentations, and portfolio performance reports, including quarterly statements prepared in coordination with third-party accountants and supporting documentation for internal management, tax, compliance, and statutory purposes, with the near-term goal of leading this initiative
• Coordinate documentation for outside tax preparers and assist with K-1, 1099, and partnership reporting cycles
• Coordinate with tax and legal advisors on year-end planning, estimated payments, and entity structuring needs
• As needed, coordinate with the operating company's accounting and finance departments
• Initially support budgeting, forecasting, financial performance analysis, and cash flow forecasting and liquidity tracking across entities, with the goal of eventually leading the cash flow and liquidity work
• Assist with ad hoc analyses, special projects, and operational and administrative tasks

Requirements

Professional Experience / Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA preferred
• Personal and professional integrity
• At least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally within a family office, private investment firm, or reputable tax/accounting organization serving UHNW clients
• Strong proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
• Ability to design and document internal controls, accounting policies, and repeatable month-end close procedures
• Project-management skills sufficient to plan and execute a transition from external accounting providers while maintaining accuracy and continuity
• Experience with Schedule K-1s and partnership allocations
• Experience with partnership and trust tax accounting is a plus
• Experience working with multiple legal entities and complex ownership structures
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple workstreams
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to exercise the highest level of discretion in handling sensitive information
• Strong computer skills including high proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with Sage Intacct a plus
