Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Family Medicine Residency Director assists the Chair in the administrative functioning of the residency program. The Residency Director assumes leadership of educational, evaluative, and programmatic activities as the Chair assigns.
• Oversees the on-going development of the curriculum, goals and objectives, and monitors its implementation
• Oversees the evaluative processes related to resident performance, educational experiences, the program, and residents evaluation of faculty
• Oversees disciplinary actions and remediation of residents
• Serves as educational consultant to any faculty when self-initiated or when faculty are so assigned.
• Together with department chair, oversees the development and implementation of the strategic plans for the Program.
• Oversees the faculty development program.
• Oversees the administration and running of the residency program, including all communications with the DIO and the ACGME.
• Completes all forms and documents requested by regulatory agencies as related to the residency program (eg: WebADS, DOH/IPRO inspections, etc.)
• Coordinates and executes in semi-annual resident evaluation and feedback sessions and exit interviews and prepares a written summary.
• Runs Faculty activities including meetings.
• Performs other duties as requested.
• Development and implementation of core competencies of the residency program.
• Together with the Department Chair, evaluates faculty of the residency program
• Oversees residency recruitment and match process
• Oversees Family Medicine Residency Budget
• Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks:
• Supervises and teaches residents and students in the Family Medicine Center - Direct observation of resident-physician interactions and presentations by residents of patient cases to faculty post-examination per Family Medicine Protocol
• Reviews charts daily with feedback to residents with respect to suggestions and constructive criticism. Review o conform with established chart audit criteria and compatible with Family Medicine Center Performance Improvement Program.
• Participates in the call schedule, which includes being the attending of record for admitted Family Medicine patients and patients referred to the Family Medicine teaching staff by community physicians
• Supervises and teaches residents and students in-hospital care of Family Medicine Service patients including adult, pediatric and nursery
• Supervises and teaches residents and medical students in the performance of special procedures, ie; minor surgery, arthrocentesis, splinting, etc.
• Participates in the design and implementation of the Performance Improvement Program for the family Medicine center. This includes collection of data, identification of problems and opportunities for Performance Improvement.
• Schedules and actively participates in the formal and informal didactic educational activities of the Residency Program. This includes conferences, lectures, seminars, Journal Club, etc.
• Guides residents and medical students in resources for their own "self teaching" ie; references to textbooks, journals and scientific literature
• Participates in the design and implementation of the residency program's research program and scholarly activities including, but not limited to performance improvement
• Reinforces educational activities of the Behavioral Science Faculty
• Available as a resource to faculty, senior charge resident, residents, nursing staff, receptionists, as to handling of walk-in patients, patient telephone calls, prescription renewals and emergencies in the Family Medicine Center.
• Demonstrates respect and consideration in dealing with all patients
• Demonstrates the ability to respond to patients in an empathetic and

concerned manner
• Displays courtesy, tact and patience when interacting with patient,

significant others, co-workers and all hospital employees
• Works effectively with other team members
• Works effectively with business office staff
• Works effectively with crises, walk-ins, screenings, referrals,

referral sources, and complaints
• Delivers services which results in high patient satisfaction
