Position Summary: Failure Analysis EngineerLocation: Nashua, NHWe are currently seeking an experienced Failure Analysis Engineer to join our Product Development team. The position will be located in Nashua, NH.
RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Failure Analysis Engineer you will provide the lead in investigation of connector failures through inspection, testing and analysis of data.
- Perform root cause analysis of failed connectors
- Create a failure analysis process and database to capture historical data and utilize for future failure analyses
- Interface with customers to understand the issues and inform them on the status, root cause, and solution
- Confirm diagnoses through testing and inspection
- Prepare test samples and test requests and work with test lab technicians.
- Suggest corrective actions to design, process, inspection etc
- Work with engineers from other disciplines to help with root cause
- Process and analyze testing results and create reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel
- Request and review 8Ds from suppliers
QUALIFICATIONS: - BS/MS Mechanical Engineering
- 5 - 10 years of experience with failure analysis and/or electrical connectors
- Experience with solid modeling tools - Pro/E and/or Solidworks would be a plus
- Experience with data analysis software, MS Excel, Minitab would be a plus
- Experience developing test plans for mechanical and environmental stresses
- Experience specifying testing protocol in automotive or consumer industries would be a plus
- Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical people
- Ability to work in team environment
- Desire to solve problems and identify solutions
- Knowledge of copper alloys and high-performance engineering thermoplastics would be a plus
- Basic understanding of electrical connectors
