Facility Security Officer (FSO)Location: Lexington, Massachusetts
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen and have a current Top Secret clearance
The Facility Security Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a security program that complies with 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM and other relevant DoD security guidance, and partnering with cognizant security authorities, senior management, and company personnel. The FSO provides support for all security actions in accordance with corporate and governmental policies and directives. The position requires a self-motivated candidate that is capable of working in an independent or team environment with minimal direction. The FSO will be required to conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to ensure compliance with DoD safeguarding policies. The FSO must possess the confidence to make critical security decisions and implement security procedures that will prevent unauthorized access to company and government facilities and/or information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer day-to-day security program: personnel processing, program reviews, document control, audits & self-inspections, violation investigations & reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction, visit requests, briefings & debriefs, etc.
- Daily use of personnel clearance data systems such as DISS, NBIS, and other security software in the performance of assigned duties
- Prepare, issue and maintain DD254s
- Maintain classified materials receipt, logging, control, and dissemination
- Maintain accountability of classified government-furnished information and equipment
- Participate in and perform inspections and audits
- Maintain certification and accreditation of the facilities eligibility as well as personnel
- Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions
- Develop and administer a comprehensive security education training program
- Maintain and coordinate excellent working relationships with government agencies
- Assure compliance with all government and company security regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO)
- Thorough working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM and other relevant DoD security guidance
- Thorough understanding of security databases such as DISS, NBIS, NISS, SWFT, eAPP
- Proficient with Microsoft applications
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with ability to work independently, customer service orientated
- Commitment to security - creating and delivering the highest value to customers
- Be able to interpret company and government security policies and apply them to program operations
- Provide clear guidance to company employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate
- Strong understanding of physical security requirements to include collateral closed or restricted areas to meet contractual needs
- Experience in creating and conducting initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre/post foreign travel briefings, refresher briefings, etc
- Experience developing and implementing OPSEC plans
- Ability to develop and establish an effective security awareness, training, and education program
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written
- Resourceful in solving problems and capitalizing on opportunities
Required:
- Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen and have a current clearance, TS Preferred
- This position requires at least 4 years of experience in the U.S. Government, DoD, Intelligence, or Industrial Security, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities
- Strong working knowledge of NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117, ICD 705, DoD physical security standards, and accreditation processes
