  • Plan and manage security programs for classified, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and proprietary materials.
  • Oversee personnel security clearance processes, visitor control procedures, and record management systems.
  • Collaborate on accreditation processes and manage annual inventories of accountable security holdings.

Facility Security Officer • Full-Time

Job Summary

The FSO is responsible for all aspects Security programs for the company to assure compliance with all applicable standards. You will need comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. Government Industrial Security Programs (NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117) and a complete and thorough understanding of established policies, procedures, and practices for safeguarding National Security Information. You will implement, maintain, and assess procedures and policies for the company that meet government, State & local standards. You will organize employee training on Security guidelines, requirements, standards, and recommend disciplinary measures as necessary. You will work closely with department heads to provide accurate and timely communication of policy, objectives, and provide guidance on corrective action.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze, investigate, and resolve classified security issues while providing leadership and guidance to employees, supervisors, managers, and contractors on actions(s) to be taken to ensure compliance with the classified security program.
  • Administer and coordinate all aspects of security activities in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal security regulations, directives, and manuals for safeguarding National Security Information.
  • Establish and manage liaison with government agencies, external customers, contractors, employees, and managers. Coordinate with government agencies to obtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with National Policy.
  • Create, manage and maintain documentation to include Standard Practice Procedures (SPP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Emergency Action Plans
  • Plan, develop, and manage specialized security programs and procedures for both classified, CUI, and proprietary materials, documents, and equipment (OPSEC).
  • Develop, review, and implement DOD classified procedures.
  • Prepare, review, and submit personnel security access requests.
  • Investigate and review all security violations, prepare reports, and recommend specific preventive and corrective action to be taken.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage internal and external record management systems (i.e., DISS/ NISS, NBIS, NCCAIS, SAM)
  • Act as security spokesperson to brief/debrief personnel.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of FOCI process and procedures. SF-328, FOCI instruments and supplements
  • Serve as the focal point for receiving, processing, distributing, and controlling all classified documentation (hard copy and electronic media) entering or leaving the facility, including electronic data transfer.
  • Prepare, review and process personnel security clearance requests.
  • Implement visitor control procedures ensuring compliance with National Policy
  • Maintain receipt and dispatch, document control, personnel records, and combination records.
  • Implement and manage access control system for the company and/or assigned business unit classified areas.
  • Prepare and administer program indoctrination and debriefings. Analyze, investigate, and resolve classified security issues while providing leadership and guidance to employees, supervisors, managers, and contractors on actions(s) to be taken to ensure compliance with the classified security program.
  • Set up Open Storage Areas in accordance with National Policy (physical security, facility security and access control, network and IT security, cryptography, personnel, etc.).
  • Collaborate with external customers, accrediting officials, facilities management, and corporate stakeholders through the SAPF/SCIF/Open Storage Area accreditation process for new facility construction.
  • Manage the annual inventory of accountable holdings in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
  • Able to work extended hours and travel as required 15%.


Academic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline and ten or more years of professional classified security experience in a corporate or government environment. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.


Job Qualifications

  • Experience with DOD processes and procedures or an equivalent regulatory environment and/or military training is a plus.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and be eligible to upgrade to TS security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
