Job Description/Announcement

STS International, a respected veteran-owned small business systems engineering and integration firm is looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to work with a skilled and supportive team for a government client at Fort Belvoir, VA. The ideal candidate will have solid facilities maintenance and repair experience to lead a team of skilled technicians responsible for improvement, repair and maintenance of client facilities and building systems (to include HVAC and electrical).

Work Schedule is 6 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday. Work locations across Ft. Belvoir, VA will vary among conditioned office & lab facilities, fabrication shops, unconditioned buildings, and outdoor, exposed conditions.

Position Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee improvement, repair and maintenance of assigned facilities to ensure client's infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Plan and schedule work assignments of a variety of skilled technicians and to balance workloads, maximize productivity, work quality and meet project deadlines.
  • Develops and ensures preventive maintenance and inspections are conducted on an effective schedule that prevents and/or minimizes system down times or malfunctions.
  • Monitor the quality of workmanship of technicians to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and standards.
  • Collaborate and meet with a variety of skilled trade workers as well as on-site customer leadership to accomplish tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Respond to emergency duty assignments when necessary.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with staff, customers, tenants and other departments through professional communication and responsive customer service.
  • Assist other facilities maintenance team members in projects as required.
  • Follows all safety protocols and protection measures; assists with or advises safety inspections as required.


Minimum/General Experience

  • 15+ years of facility maintenance and management experience with strong understanding of building system installation, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Strong problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of local building and fire codes, regulations and safety standards.
  • Familiar with safety protocols associated with the use of hand tools, power tools commonly used in building construction projects and repair.
  • Must be able to collaborate with skilled staff and senior leadership and provide excellent customer service.
  • Be able to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma

Clearance Requirement: The successful candidate must be able to obtain and retain a secret clearance. STS will sponsor clearance investigation for the successful candidate.
