Job Summary

At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered.

This position has the responsibility to provide supervision, coordination and direction of maintenance for buildings and grounds for assigned PSEG properties. Assure buildings, properties, equipment and vehicles are maintained in accordance with specifications and regulatory requirements and respond to emergent issues on site and on-call. Prepare contract scopes of work and manage corrective and preventive maintenance by contractors performing activities such as landscaping, plumbing, electrical, conveying, janitorial, HVAC, critical systems maintenance, life safety maintenance, Moves/Ads/Changes, and snow removal ensuring specifications, contractual requirements and PSE&G safety rules are enforced. Bargaining Unit Building Mechanics will receive activities from Facility Coordinator for corrective maintenance. Inspect, record, and report abnormal building conditions, scheduling required maintenance and repairs to minimize interruptions to facility assets supporting the business requirements end use. Project coordination between departments, which requires a working knowledge of other disciplines such as LAN, phone, construction and mechanical. Assure client needs are met in a timely and effective manner as determined by service level agreement with the line of business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide contractor oversight and supervise emergent, routine, corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Provide oversight regarding contractor performance, technical review, and PSEG safety requirements.
  • Coordinate moves/ads/changes as requested by the business at assigned facilities. Oversee conference room reservations, set up, and audio visual maintenance and respond to client requests through work request process.
  • Approve invoices up to predetermined DOA ($25K) for contract work related to routine maintenance and one-time projects.
  • Provide on-call emergency response to building issues and regional on-call rotation for many locations through phone, e-mail, and building automation system.
  • Delegate activities to Bargaining Unit Building Mechanics for emergent issues and corrective maintenance.
  • Make key decisions regarding repair versus replacement of facilities assets which will affect life cycle of critical facility assets as well as yearly O&M maintenance budgets.
  • Complete inspections, assessments, reporting and record keeping regarding warranties, permits and planning purposes.


Job Specific Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in facilities management and maintenance of buildings, property and equipment including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and troubleshooting control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate maintenance and service contractors.
  • Willingness to work shifts and flexible hours, including emergency callout.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • Possess good oral & written communication skills and customer/client oriented.


Desired
  • More than 10 years experience in Facilities Management, Project Management or Construction Management.
  • Experience coordinating the repair and installation of office automation equipment and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Supervisory and/or leadership related experience.
  • Computer skills related to Microsoft office suite and real estate management systems and IWMS - Tririga software.
