Position Description

The 1718 Building Manager position for G108 oversees building operations, maintenance, and a team of technicians supporting dedicated prototyping and system development activities. This position ensures optimal performance of dynamic mission teams, facilitates electrical/ mechanical systems for optics and RF labs and specialized laboratory infrastructure, while coordinating preventive maintenance, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and security protocols. The role requires strong leadership and technical expertise to maintain a mission-ready environment that enables uninterrupted prototyping and test operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Associates Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience with five or more years of experience in electronics or RF/IR prototype development
  • Significant professional or academic experience in at least two of the following areas, and some familiarity and career interest in several others:
  • Test design, procedure development, and execution
  • RF system and/or high-speed digital system design, fabrication, and test
  • Ground support equipment development for ground and airborne systems
  • Electronics: PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) level testing, prototype test development and execution
  • Development of design drawings and documentation via Vizio and other tools
  • 3D printing capability to assist in prototyping efforts
  • Facilitates hardware assembly in support of program needs
  • Rapid troubleshooting of systems


Additional Experience

Demonstrated operations management experience:

  • Ability to act as a closed area custodian
  • Control and maintains building access lists, door combinations, and oversight of security containers
  • Experience working with technicians in IR/RF prototyping
  • Ability to plan projects and assign sub-tasks
  • Works closely with Technical Staff and Group Office to prioritize efforts
  • Capable of assisting in logistics pertaining to building operations (e.g., work orders, deliveries, and building maintenance)
  • Facilitates visitor paperwork and badging when required
  • Works closely with IT team to maintain building infrastructure including networks and equipment

  • Limited travel required to support deployment of systems and assisting in operations/testing

  • Demonstrable knowledge of laboratory service areas and contact points highly desired


Hiring Range: $100,600 - $136,200
