About the role

The Facility Manager is a key position within Reworld and is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities consistent with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values. Reporting to the Regional Operations Area Manager, this role is a key position that oversees all aspects of facility Safety, Environmental, Operations, Maintenance, Outage Planning/Execution, Project Planning/Execution, Engineering, Procurement, Lean/Continuous Improvement, Client Relationships/Interface, and Financial Performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Facility Manager will provide exceptional leadership to develop/sustain a high-performing culture to consistently achieve and/or exceed operational budget commitments. The Facility Manager will develop O&M budgets/forecasts and Long-Term Maintenance Plans to achieve/sustain operational excellence while maximizing P&L/EBITDA/FCF contributions. The Facility Manager will use data and experiential guidance to make conservative decisions to ensure the plant is operated in a safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible manner. From a macro perspective, the Facility Manger is responsible for "all aspects of facility end-to-end" O&M activities involved in receiving incoming waste, processing/thermally treating incoming waste, and removing the by-products of the thermal treatment process. From a system/component level perspective, the Facility Manager is responsible for all O&M aspects of facility Boilers, Turbine Generator(s), Metals Systems, Ash Handling Systems, and BOP Auxiliary Systems.

Safety
  • Ensure safe and environmentally responsible operations at the site.
  • Oversee and promote effective Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and practices.


Productivity
  • Coordinates all outages and maintenance planning including utilizing regional and corporate resources when necessary to maximize effectiveness.
  • Lead site operations to consistently meet or exceed business objectives and Annual Operating Plan targets.
  • Maintain cost effectiveness through aggressive productivity and asset management.
  • Develop long term maintenance, staffing, operational and budgetary plans
  • Develop and execute strategy for the site to increase operational discipline/accountability, productivity, quality, reliability, employee engagement/retention.
  • Champion use of Six Sigma/Lean tools in driving plant improvement to develop and implement strategic initiatives relative to inventory, capacity utilization, and growth opportunities to deliver business results and drive maturity beyond current level.


Customer/Community Relations:
  • Represent Reworld in local government, community, and industry groups.
  • Develop relationships to improve performance with key Clients.
  • Build positive working relationships within the global organization and serve as point-of-contact for broader Company initiatives.


Supervision
  • Improve and develop organization capabilities through effective performance management and planning/utilization of human and capital resources.
  • Drive cultural change, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization.
  • Develop and maintain effective site leadership team. Motivate the team to encourage personal and professional growth by setting goals and objectives for all functional areas of the plant.
  • Champion programs to address employee satisfaction, employee training, communications, technology transfer, process improvement and departmental structure to support operating and strategic goals.


Qualification Requirements:
  • 5- 10 years of progressive power plant or manufacturing experience, ideally with power generation and / or material handling.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, project planning, cost control, and program management.
  • Experience in use of Six Sigma tools, with Lean, Black belt or Green belt certification preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in implementing HS&E programs and business initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to influence others and interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers.
  • Previous management experience in a specialty chemical plant or other industrial facilities with significant material handling, coal fired power plant or WTE environment
  • Proven leadership skills as a team player/builder and a driver of value-added results.
  • Strong internal and external communication and team-building skills.
  • Ability to recognize the unique talents, perspectives, and experiences of others to get results and develop all levels of the organization
  • Experience in building (re-building) process/systems focused structure.


Qualifications Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.


Physical Demands:
  • Frequently ascends or descends ladders, stairs, elevated walkways, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Frequently lifts or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts or moves up to 50 pounds.
  • Position requires working near and around operating mechanical parts and mobile equipment and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations.
  • Capable of wearing personal protective equipment, such as hearing protectors and respirators, as necessary.

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $157,000.00 - $224,400.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
