Position Summary
Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking an experienced Facilities Structural Engineer to support the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of structural systems for our greenfield semiconductor manufacturing facility. This role will be responsible for ensuring structural designs meet operational, safety, seismic, equipment loading, and future expansion requirements while supporting project execution from concept through factory startup and sustaining operations.
The Structural Engineer will work closely with architects, engineering consultants, construction teams, equipment engineers, facilities section managers, and manufacturing stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable, and maintainable buildings and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the design, construction of structural systems for semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
• Collaborate with architects, structural design consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are incorporated into designs.
• Review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents for technical compliance and constructability.
• Support design reviews at key project milestones, including conceptual, 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC design packages.
• Evaluate structural systems for manufacturing buildings, utility buildings, office spaces, warehouses, and support facilities.
• Review equipment anchorage, housekeeping pads, mezzanines, platforms, and equipment support structures for semiconductor manufacturing tools and facility systems.
• Coordinate structural requirements associated with facility utilities, process systems, tool installations, and future expansion projects.
• Support construction activities through field inspections, issue resolution, design clarifications, and contractor coordination.
• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and proposed design changes for structural systems.
• Identify and resolve structural design conflicts and constructability issues.
• Support seismic design reviews and ensure compliance with applicable building codes and standards.
• Coordinate with Facilities Engineering teams to ensure designs support operational reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle requirements.
• Participate in commissioning, turnover, and acceptance activities.
• Maintain engineering documentation, standards, specifications, and as-built records.
• Support capital improvement projects and facility modifications after startup.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and company safety requirements.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering, design, construction, or facilities engineering.
• Experience with industrial, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, data center, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical facilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, seismic design, and building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Familiarity with building codes, IBC requirements, ASCE standards, and applicable structural design codes.
• Proficiency with engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and structural analysis software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting semiconductor fabs, OSAT facilities, or other high-tech manufacturing projects.
• Experience with greenfield facility design and construction.
• Knowledge of equipment support structures, vibration control, and heavy equipment foundation design.
• Experience supporting tool installation activities and facility modifications.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience with design-build project delivery methods.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to work in office, industrial, construction, and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to conduct field walks, inspections, and construction observations.
• Ability to climb ladders and access elevated work areas as required.
• Occasional lifting of materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.

Location:

This position will be based at the Peoria, AZ site, working from temporary offices during the construction phase and transitioning to the facility upon the start of factory operations.
