Full Job Description
Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking a Facilities Water Manager to lead the end-to-end strategy, design, construction, commissioning, and operations of all site water systems, including Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Wastewater Treatment (WWT).

This role is responsible for ensuring reliable water supply, regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, and sustainability performance across the facility. The Water Manager will provide technical leadership and team management while driving integrated water management strategies aligned with production goals and ESG commitments

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will evolve throughout the project lifecycle, ranging from design and commissioning to full-scale operations, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to each phase.

  • Lead and manage UPW and WWT engineering and operations teams.
  • Develop and execute a site-wide water management strategy (Reclaimed water, UPW, waste streams, potable water).
  • Drive alignment between facilities, manufacturing, EHS, and corporate sustainability goals.
  • Establish KPIs for water quality, reliability, consumption, and discharge compliance.
  • Lead design installation.
  • Commissioning of UPW systems.
  • Wastewater treatment systems (organic, inorganic, BRF)
  • Collaborate with design vendors, contractors, and internal engineering teams.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and meet production capacity requirements.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of high-quality UPW to manufacturing.
  • Lead wastewater treatment plant operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Implement system upgrades to improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Lead permitting efforts and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.
  • Work closely with the EHS group for permitting, water discharge, consumption, and ESG metrics.
  • Lead water treatment strategies for the closed loop systems.
  • Optimize chemical usage, energy consumption, and water recovery rates.
  • Enforce safety protocols for chemical handling and system operations.
  • Ensure compliance with PPE, confined space, and hazardous operations requirements.
  • Lead emergency response planning for water systems.
  • Develop, maintain accurate system PMs, SOPs, and engineering records.
  • Train and develop engineering and technician teams.
  • Support knowledge transfer from construction to operations phases.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in water systems (UPW and/or WWT) in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Strong expertise in UPW & Wastewater treatment (biological, chemical, physical processes)
  • Experience across design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, automation, and system controls.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and awkward positions.
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs and adjust heavy objects.
  • Exposure to sharp, hot, and cold equipment.
  • Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at elevation, and in confined spaces with PPE.


Location:

This position will be based at the Arizona Tempe and Peoria sites during the Construction phase and will transition to Peoria for management during the Factory Operation phase.
