JOB DESCRIPTION

Facility Planner

Must be a United States citizen with a clear background for government security investigation with the ability to obtain a Clearance or Common Access Card (CAC). 

Position will support a Program Integration Office (PIO) in the coordination of Military Construction (MILCON) projects and Facility Sustainment Restoration & Modernization (FSRM) projects supporting a new-mission beddown of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter at Moody AFB, GA. 

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facility Planner: $95,000 to $105,000 

Pay commensurate with experience.

Facility Planner Responsibilities Include: 

  • Assist with coordination across all installation agencies to facilitate the preparation of infrastructure, facilities and services required for the new mission organization to reach Initial * Full Operating Capability (I/FOC) within minimal to no disruption to ongoing missions.  
  • Provide technical support to facilitate coordination and integration of multitude plans, operations, timelines and deliverables in support of a single executable operations plan. 
  • Support both the Facility Sustainment Restoration & Modernization (FSRM) and Military Construction (MILCON) programs by assisting with facility space needs to ensure Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) acquisitions are completed in a timely manner to minimize delays from facility construction/renovation completion to full occupancy. 
  • Provide recurring updates to senior leadership to include updates on projected service interruptions and success stories.     
  • Assist with beddown coordination activities with Headquarters, Squadron, Group, Wing leadership, DoD Partners (i.e. USACE), contractors and multiple agencies across the installation. 
  • Provide architectural and space planning solutions that include preparation of architectural drawings. 
  • Perform review of design intent drawings. 
  • Provide facilities, furnishings, equipment, and space management support to assist Government-led planning, acquisition, installation, and utilization efforts. Support shall include coordination of project schedules, resources, and communications.
  • Review of architectural and space planning solutions.
  • Collaborate with project team members to ensure space utilization and interior design solutions comply with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, safety regulations, Air Force policies, and end-user needs. 
  • Completes weekly and monthly internal and external reporting.
  • Develop project briefings and presentations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

 

Facility Planner Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • Five years of related experience and two years of directly related USAF or DOD installation facility space planning/analysis experience is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design or related field is desirable.
  • Knowledge of furniture procurement and installation.      Ability to coordinate planning for IT, Security, Furniture procurement and configuration, and construction desired.  
  • Analytical skills relevant to analyzing facility optimization, space planning, and cost savings. 

  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, GIS, GeoBase and other computer-aided (CAD) programs that support the creation of drawings, models and designs. 

  • Produce graphic products for the 23 CES, including briefings, photographs, and maps conveying timely and relevant facility conditions.

  • Prepare nontechnical drawings for operations flight personnel. 

  • Coordinate GIS and GeoBase updates with designated POCs. Print/reproduce existing as-built drawings as required. 

  • Experience in gathering data to solve complex technical problems and be able to follow established project related procedures and complete established project milestones. 

  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication analysis, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with various IT Systems is desired. 

  • Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
