Facilities Maintenance Planner

The Facilities Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and availability of terminal infrastructure and facilities. This position bridges operations and maintenance teams by transforming maintenance requirements into executable plans, coordinating resources, and optimizing maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize asset performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for terminal facilities and infrastructure
  • Create detailed work packages including scope, labor, materials, permits, and safety requirements
  • Schedule maintenance activities in close coordination with terminal operations to minimize disruption
  • Prioritize work orders based on safety, operational impact, and asset condition
  • Support the efficient use of IFS and CMMS systems to drive maintenance effectiveness and business objectives
  • Interface with equipment and service providers to review technical specifications and support maintenance strategies
  • Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of parts and materials
  • Support contractor planning, scope development, and work execution activities
  • Forecast labor requirements, contractor resources, and material needs
  • Track maintenance history, costs, and performance metrics
  • Maintain maintenance plans, work order records, and asset information within the IFS system
  • Analyze KPIs including schedule compliance, backlog, asset availability, and maintenance costs
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset reliability, planning efficiency, and cost performance

What We're Looking For

Education
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Maintenance Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with container terminal operations and union labor environments preferred

Experience
  • 3 to 7 years of maintenance planning experience
  • Experience within container terminals, ports, logistics hubs, heavy industrial environments, or large facilities operations preferred
  • Hands-on experience with IFS, CMMS, or related maintenance management systems

Skills
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational capabilities
  • Solid understanding of facilities and civil infrastructure maintenance practices
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholders and operational teams
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret maintenance performance data and KPIs

Working Conditions
