This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

The Facilities Mechanical Engineer II will support the design of new infrastructure and buildings under the guidance of a licensed engineer. This role is ideal for a candidate who has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and has the ambition to eventually obtain a Professional Engineering license. The successful candidate will assist in the production of design and construction documents, contributing to the delivery of high-quality mechanical engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design of new infrastructure and buildings under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
  • Assist in the production of design and construction documents, including mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Conduct research and provide support for mechanical design solutions and concepts. For systems including HVAC, Chilled Water, Compressed Air, etc.
  • Prepare and review mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy and compliance with project standards.
  • Support the coordination of project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, technologies, and advancements to contribute to project innovation.
  • Prepare for and pursue a Professional Engineering license after gaining the required experience.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members on best practices and design principles.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in mechanical engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced engineering technologies.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and practices.
  • Previous internship or work experience in a mechanical engineering firm.


Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35
