Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to join our Llodyminster Thermal Facilities team. Reporting to the Manager, Facilities - Lloydminster Thermal, this Calgary-based role is responsible for supporting the design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup of SAGD facilities and related infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and engineering contractors to safely deliver capital projects from concept through execution while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and engineering standards.

Essential Functions
  • Design and construction of SAGD Thermal Facilities
  • Design and construction of various types of pipelines
  • Development of cost estimates, cost forecasts and schedules
  • Preparation of weekly, monthly reports and various project presentations
  • Facilitation of various technical meetings (technical reviews, information sharing, and planning)
  • Preparation of Design Basis Memorandums, Project Execution Plans, and other technical documents
  • Review construction execution and safety plans
  • Monitor and enforce the corporate Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) requirements
  • Review pipeline survey plans for constructability
  • Participate in model reviews and HAZOPs
  • Ensure compliance of engineering deliverables with project specifications and all applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices
  • Ensure engineering contractors prepare all construction documents, and review for completeness and accuracy
  • Facilitate and participate in shop fabrication walkdowns and pre-commissioning
  • Review shop inspection and field construction reports, and liaise with the engineering contractor for timely resolution of requests for information, non-conformances, and preventative and corrective actions
  • Facilitate and participate in system walkdowns and handover
  • Assist in the development and execution, inclusive of monitoring and surveillance, of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
  • Provide technical support for commissioning and operations


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a Project Engineer or related role in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required or eligible for registration; PMP certification is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Saskatchewan regulatory requirements related to SAGD and water infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated experience designing and constructing SAGD facilities and associated infrastructure, including steel and HDPE pipeline systems
  • Experience with material procurement, contractor management, and construction contract execution
  • Knowledge of brownfield facility construction and modification projects
  • Proven ability to manage engineering consultants and construction contractors while delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget
