Job Title: Facilities Engineer

The Facilities Engineer / Specialist II is responsible for supporting the design, evaluation, modification, and operational reliability of oil and gas production facilities and associated infrastructure. This role provides engineering support for facility operations, project development, maintenance activities, and capital improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with company standards, engineering specifications, and regulatory requirements.

The position works closely with operations, construction, maintenance, and engineering teams to support field facility upgrades, troubleshooting efforts, management of change processes, and project execution activities. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills, experience with unconventional oil and gas facility design, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

Engineering & Facilities Support

  • Evaluate and review engineering work performed internally and by contractors to ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as an area engineer supporting plant or field operations for assigned production and facilities areas.
  • Support operations with facility modifications, repairs, and alterations involving piping, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, and related systems.
  • Provide engineering support during facility shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct routine facility surveillance and monitor operational KPIs.

Project Development & Execution

  • Support small capital projects from scoping through execution and handoff to construction and operations teams.
  • Participate in field walks, site assessments, and data collection activities to support project planning and execution.
  • Develop project scopes, technical documentation, and engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate project deliverable closure and support management of change (MOC) processes.
  • Assist with project scheduling, planning, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Operations & Problem Solving

  • Troubleshoot facility and process issues associated with unconventional production systems.
  • Support optimization and reliability improvements for production facilities and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with operations and construction teams to identify practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance related to facility design, equipment selection, and operational performance.

Communication & Coordination

  • Maintain clear communication with operations, construction, maintenance, and engineering teams regarding project status, technical issues, and operational priorities.
  • Coordinate activities with contractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Support engineering reviews, audits, and documentation efforts.
  • Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and cross-functional collaboration activities.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable safety standards, environmental regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Support safe work practices and operational integrity initiatives.
  • Participate in field safety reviews, risk assessments, and operational readiness activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years of oil & gas industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of unconventional facilities or production design experience preferred.
  • Experience with tank batteries, vessel batteries, and production facility systems strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting project development, facility modifications, and field operations.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, specifications, codes, and safety requirements.
  • Experience supporting management of change (MOC) processes.
  • Ability to perform field visits, facility walkdowns, and data collection activities.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and operational demands.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to field locations as required.

Job Details:

Pay: $86.50/per hr
