Job Title: Facilities Engineer / Specialist III
Job Description:Evaluate and provide comments on discipline engineering work performed internally and by contractors/sub-contractors to ensure execution aligns with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitate effective engineering and design routines that support team goals, objectives, and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely communication across the team and with other functions regarding engineering activities, progress, and issues. The role requires strong technical capability as well as effective communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Work Schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off
Travel (if based in Houston, TX): 3-4 days per month (could be less)
Potential: Possible multi-year extension with potential path to direct hire
Responsibilities:- Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed internally and by contractors/sub-contractors for compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate execution of engineering and design routines aligned with team goals, objectives, and procedures.
- Communicate engineering activities, progress, and issues accurately and timely to stakeholders and other functions.
- Participate in area risk assessments, HAZOPs, hazard hunts, and critical operating parameter reviews.
- Lead incident investigations, including downtime and process-safety-related events.
- Support opportunity management by identifying opportunities and developing project scope of work.
- Conduct risk assessments for new facility projects and existing facilities, and drive closure of mitigating action items.
- Lead performance testing and plant-based trials.
- Develop operating guidelines for facilities.
- Coach and mentor junior and peer colleagues.
- Deliver projects quickly while collaborating across multiple teams.
Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (no specific field required), or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluent in English (read, write, speak) for technical and business communications.
- PMP experience (preferred).
Location: Williston, ND, or Houston, TX
Schedule: 5/2, 3-4 days of travel per month if located in Houston
Pay: $105/hr (W2)
