Full Job Description
The Facilities Engineer serves as a vital resource for Production Operations and will provide ongoing technical support to help maximize facility and well performance while ensuring field safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management
  • Investigate operational challenges and present recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Lead the design of Non-D&C Capital projects and support construction and commissioning.
  • Actively participate in facility & equipment management: Installation, operation, optimization, and maintenance of production facility major components including artificial lift systems (jet pump, gas lift, rod pumps) and compression units.
  • Monitor and assess current operations workflows.
  • Conduct enhancement activities for processing facilities and producing wells.
  • Optimize resources to complete operational activities with minimal downtime while keeping safety and economic viability at the forefront.
  • Undertake forward planning to anticipate problems and establish corrective actions.


Technical & Engineering
  • Provide real-time engineering support to resolve operational issues at well sites, processing facilities, cryogenic plants, and compressor stations.
  • Prepare cost estimates and manage Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE).
  • Manage Non-D&C Capital and Lease Operating Expenses (LOE) to ensure projects stay within budget and annual budget categories are not exceeded.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to HES rules, environmental regulations, and industry standards such as API and OSHA.
  • Drive process optimization for facilities (Centralized and On-pad).
  • Provide field engineering support to operational issues by troubleshooting equipment and processes.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement optimization strategies.


Documentation & Compliance
  • Lead the Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Lead or participate in incident RCFA investigations and develop engineered solutions for hazard elimination or mitigation.
  • Ensure all data records are accurate - PIDs, C&Es, PHAs, Inspection docs, etc.


Requirements & Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering, or related engineering field - Required.
  • Degree from an ABET-accredited program - Preferred.


Experience
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in upstream oil and gas production or midstream operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of oil and gas operations.


Technical Skills
  • Understand the principles of Risk Assessment and their application.
  • Experience with maintenance operations and Mechanical Integrity.
  • Technical proficiency in production facilities design and operation.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic simulations, nodal analysis, and software like Microsoft Excel or industry-specific tools (e.g., HYSIS, Piper, ProMax).
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to work in remote locations, climb ladders/walkways, lift to 50 lbs, and work in extreme weather conditions.


Other Key Skills
  • Analytical Thinking: Evaluating complex data sets to diagnose performance issues.
  • Project Management: Managing multiple priorities, vendors, and third-party contractors simultaneously.
  • Communication: Translating complex technical findings into actionable reports for management and field crews.


Work Environment

This is a field-based position, and candidates must live within 85 miles of a Crescent Field office (Carrizo Springs, Dilley, Three Rivers). Ability to travel to field sites or corporate offices with overnight stays as much as 10% of the time.
