Facilities Director - State of MichiganSalary: $90,000 - $100,000/yr. Oversight: Facilities Maintenance and Transportation Service Lines (Fleet) Would you like to use your background in facilities management while also making a difference in people's lives? As the Director of Facilities, you will oversee all maintenance services for multiple sites, providing or directing facilities management, new facility acquisition, building projects, and related regulatory compliance.
- Manage all aspects of building and renovation projects nationwide
- Assist with project budget creation and tracking; develop, track, and provide ongoing feedback to Operations about budget adherence
- Lead annual process of capital expense budget creation in conjunction with senior management
- Oversee facility leases and contracts with landlords; assist with locating and acquisition of new facilities
- Conduct evaluations and assist with design plans for new construction and acquired facilities
- Create and maintain accessibility plans for accreditation; ensure that all facilities are compliant with all necessary accreditation, corporate standards, and with other regulatory requirements
- Report to and accompany representatives of pertinent state, federal, and local regulatory agency as needed
- Direct long-term planning functions of all Facilities Services workgroups
- Manage fixed asset purchasing at assigned locations
- Travel to and provide consultation to all locations in assisting with facilities acquisition, new start development, operations, and compliance as needed
- Secure competitive bids for capital improvements/purchases and make recommendations to Operations Investigate and qualify vendors, consultants, and private contractors for facility projects
- Act in a project management capacity with selected vendors to monitor renovations and other capital improvement projects
- Manage energy and utility consumption functions
- Establish and manage engineering business processes, documentation, trends, and tracking tools
- Be on-call 24/7 for critical incidents and other events as required
- Supervise and manage assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, training, and ongoing support; resolve employee relations issues as needed; make decisions related to employment
- Manage special projects as directed by senior management
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline
- 7+ years of related experience with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- Must have a construction license knowledge.
- Working knowledge of and ability to handle all maintenance and electrical equipment
- Knowledge of facilities and construction project management and related systems
- Ability to travel on short notice and as needed
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical/operations data, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Valid driver's license and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the company, if applicable
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; able to prepare budgets
- Current contractor license in state of operation
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to multitask
- Strong communication and analytical skills
